Fragments of my life. Part I

I was recently asked. Tell me about your painting. I found myself staring at it, and how should I begin? My work is made up of a journey - a diary of me. I can start with the most obvious, the one eye. When you have been doing art as long as I have, you feel as if you begin to see things beyond what is there. That led me to look into the mind's eye or the center eye. Is there more than meets the eye? Then I went back and looked at older works and realized most of my paintings were one eye. One eye open while the other shut.
Not as prominent as current works but nevertheless... It was right around that time that I began to develop a long, excruciating, and agonizing journey of a detached retina that wouldn't heal. Know that the mind's eye doesn't work this way; it had to be a cosmic coincidence. It became something I like to call the Dorian Gray phenomenon. All this being said, with the universe and God's will, as long as I have the ability, I will keep painting the ladies. #mindseye #beingblind #eyeart #popcubism #Picasso #Braque #detachedretina
